Additional signed Submission. Release, and Authorization forms will be required from all educators or adult representatives with selected works for display in the Young Art 2023 Comfort and Calm Exhibition, or works cannot be shown. These forms will be required to be hand delivered with the chosen artwork to the San Diego Museum of Art on February 10th or February 11th, 2023.

Young Art 2023: Comfort and Calm Submission Guidelines Submissions Open January 2-22, 2023
Artwork Specification
• A representing adult, parent, or educator may submit a youth work of art
• If an educator, educators may submit up to 5 student works of art
• Collaborative projects will be accepted and are encouraged
• All works of art entered must be the ideation and effort of youth (K-12)
• Student works of art must be original in expression
• Works of art must be created during the 2022/2023 school year
• Works of art can be two-dimensional or three-dimensional
• High Resolution JPG file of each student's work requested
Note, image may be used for inclusion on the SDMArt.org website and marketing purposes.
Materials/Media
• Works of art must be original and may be created with any medium or material
Organic materials (e.g. natural materials, food, etc.) cannot be displayed in the Museum
• Digital images and video and audio files are acceptable
• Please coat all chalk, charcoal, or pastel artworks with a fixative before submitting
• All materials must be firmly affixed to the object’s surface
• Please do not mat or frame any works of art. Two-dimensional pieces will be professionally matted by the Museum
Size and Weight Restrictions
Each submitted piece should align with the following dimensions in inches:
• Standard sized two-dimensional works: ranging from 4 x 6 to 24 x 32: 4 x 6, 5 x 7, 6 x 9, 8 x 8,
8 x 10, 8.5 x 11, 9 x 12, 11 x 14, 12 x 12, 12 x 18, 16 x 20, 18 x 24, or 24 x 32.
• Three-dimensional works: Not to exceed 12 x 12 x 12
• Weight Limits: 2D Works: 5 lbs., 3D Works: 25 lbs.
